Jannah has distinct Arabic and English uses. In Arabic, جنّة means “garden” and, in Islamic religious language, “paradise,” making it a feminine name with clear spiritual associations. In English, Jannah can instead be a spelling variant of Janna, a form in the Jane and Johanna family, ultimately meaning “Yahweh is gracious.” The origins are unrelated and should not be combined. Notable bearers include Malaysian actor Janna Nick, though her usual spelling omits the final h; exact-spelling examples are limited.
